Virtual Sessions – Across Timezones

Working with Alison Lawrie at Altered Outlooks, we developed a new coaching programme with modules for individuals centred on Insights Discovery™ personality profiles. We then delivered the first coaching session to two enthusiastic clients in the Americas.

Coaching from (and to) Home!

Given that Alison was working from her home base in Scotland, and Jennifer’s home office is in the Netherlands, these individual coaching sessions had been designed to be delivered remotely to our participants in the Americas. This design was not a given before the COVID-19 pandemic led to a sharp increase in working from home!

Insights Discovery™ Coaching Modules for Individuals

Alison had previously worked with corporate clients. She developed these coaching modules for individuals to benefit from the same learning and development of self-understanding that she had seen so successfully for teams in the corporate environment.

The coaching modules focused on understanding personality profiles and building awareness of the participants’ own preferences and those around them. This content is ideal for those considering the following:

• a career transition
• return to the workplace
• how you get the best out of relocation due to expatriate assignments
• how you derive more satisfaction from volunteer work

…and even how to communicate better with the teenagers in your life!

I thoroughly enjoyed working both with Alison and Jennifer in a virtual class setting. A friend and I participated together in the Insights Discovery™ Program.  Using a virtual platform enabled all four of us to come together without problem from four different countries.  This was an especially unique time, as COVID-19 had barred most international travel.  I’m eager to put my new insights into use, not only in a community setting but also in engaging with my older teenagers and upon resumption into the working world again.

I was pleased to have the opportunity to work with Jennifer and Alison on the Insights Discovery™ Personal Profile programme. The concept of ‘colour energies’ has enabled me to understand, at a deep level, my own personal preferences and resulting strengths and weaknesses. Just as importantly, this course shows you how to adapt your own behaviour to take into account the colour energies of those around you. As someone who has been an expatriate, out of the workplace for over a decade, the course was both fun and practical. It would be of great benefit to anyone considering a return to work or a career change; it has also helped me understand why some overseas placements have been easier to adjust to than others!

Alison is an engaging and sensitive facilitator, and we experienced no problems using virtual conferencing across two continents and four timezones. I highly recommend.
